Hut Work Weekend
28 Sep 2018 - 30 Sep 2018
The weekend of 29th-30th September several of us gathered at the hut for the annual work weekend. The weather was good and we had a very productive Saturday giving the hut a good spring clean and fixing lots of odd jobs. The log box got a new lid and the logs beside the stove got a new home to be stacked on. Jim Plaice and others put in a stalwart path weeding effort. Jojo arrived mid-afternoon and set to work re-compacting the paths, which now look very smart again.
We welcomed our new member Jim Whitehead, and his son, Andrew. Claire Cumming also officially joined the club during the meet, having initially come out with us via MeetUp. Moira and Tony also popped in, as did Scott (who was helping out with the BB). Alan Clark's pies and cakes were relished. By Saturday evening we were bulging at the seams having done our best to eat through two apples crumbles.
On Sunday Iain, Jim W, Katie, Jon and Claire headed up the Capel path and looped round over Cairn Dearg. We enjoyed excellent views of Broad Cairn and Lochnagar. Jojo and Phil stayed at the hut pursuing further improvements.
